STEP 1. Be sure to turn off water heater firstTurn off the power to the water pump, gas supply, and electrical power to the water heater |
STEP 2. Remove anode and drain water heaterUse the socket wrench to remove the anode rod, which also serves as a drain plug. |
STEP 3. Rinse water heaterAttach the RV Heater rinse nozzle to your hose and use it to thoroughly rinse out the tank. Allow tank to fill up a bit and let all the water flow out a few times. |
STEP 4. Replace new anode rodeApply PTFE tape to the threads of the anode to ensure a good seal. Replace and tighten securely with the socket wrench. |
