Why do we have to cleanse the tarot cards?
Cleansing the tarot deck is when you want to clear all of the energy away from it and make it a fresh start.
So when youve had a lot of people handling it or it just been a while since youve kind of given it a bit of an energetic, reset charging your tarot deck, on the other hand is a way to imbue it with power. Its a way to give it a nice deep reset.
But youre actually bringing energy to it and cleansing something is giving it clean and charging. It is basically giving it energy.
Few suggestions to cleanse & charge your tarot deck:
1. Place in moonlight or sunlight.
Dont place the deck in the sun for too long to damage your cards.
2. Perform reiki (energy healing).
Simply placing your hands over the deck and actually doing a bit of a reiki session with it will help charge it up.
3. Put in order & place on altar.
If you have some cards that are reversed, just turn them around and place them on your altar.
4. Build a crystal grid around them.
Using different colors of stones and putting them near the cards, so energy is being brought to your tarot deck.
5. Tuck the cards into sleep.
Just wrap the deck up with a silk cloth and place it in a wooden box for 24 hours.
6. Let them soak in a bowl.
Placing the tarot cards inside a crystal bowl-a singing bowl, and allowing them to soak.
7. Take the deck on a date.
Take your deck on a little field trip to a sacred space that means a lot to you.
