Description

The Epiphone SG Special P-90 Electric Guitar is a high-quality yet extremely economical guitar that takes its inspiration from the ‘60s SG Special, a soapbar-loaded classic with a boat-load of attitude. Based upon Seth Lovers innovative single-coil design, the Epiphone SG Special’s dual P-90 Pro pickups deliver a monstrous high-gain tone full of strut and snarling attitude but with the gain rolled-back, pour out a wash of mellow richness. This SG features the classic symmetrical flat-topped double-horned Mahogany body matched by a comfortable SlimTaper Mahogany neck with a smooth-playing Indian Laurel fingerboard loaded with 22 Medium-jumbo frets. The Epiphones ‘60s-style SlimTaper neck profile is thinner than its 50s-style predecessor’s and makes for a smoother, more comfortable playing experience. The Epiphone SG Special lightweight build makes it ideal for playing over long periods and supportive of energetic physical performances. It also features a lightning bolt wraparound bridge and ivory-buttoned tuners that help to provide modern performance standards while maintaining vintage appeal. Highly versatile, P-90 Pro pickups are brighter, leaner and a little more raucous than humbuckers and create their own brand of gritty heat. Played through a high-gain tube amp, these brilliant pickups are capable of generating a variety of crunching, grinding, driving tones particularly unique to their expertly honed winding.
