Single Sand Dollar Fossil Specimen in Plastic Case
The Sand Dollar (Mellita Quinquiesperforata) belongs to the echinoderm family, and is given its name due to its round, flat shape. This fossil originates from Madagascar and lived during the Mesozoic period, approximately 100 million years ago. The Sand Dollar is attached to an identification card and adhered to its protective, plastic case. Plastic case features a removable top, which allows the fossil to be touched and more closely observed. Perfect for science classroom observation, but also makes a great gift for budding paleontologists and specimen collectors.
